Five under 5

Five under £5 for December

Five for December

Five for December

When I started doing these Five under £5 posts, it was an idea I’d seen on other blogs – mainly beauty ones – but thought it would work for my little space too. I’ve been choosing to feature five things each month, some for me, some for the kids, some things I have chosen as gifts. I’ve included make-up, jewellery, things for the home, food, whatever I fancy really – the only rule is that everything should be under a fiver.

I’ve had so many comments from people saying they love these posts and would love to join in, so from this month you can do your own five under 5 and leave a link below.

You don’t have to have a blog, you could create your five things shot on instagram or twitter, and add the link on the form below. If you could link back to this post in yours that would be lovely, and please make time to comment on a few others while you’re there. If you could use the tag #fiveunder5 on your twitter or instagram posts that would help too. It’s very relaxed – but I will say, just because it’s Christmas, my favourite post will win all of my five things for themselves!

So – my Five under £5 for December. I’m afraid I’ve gone slightly over on one of my products this week but I just really wanted to include it and I’ve had so many compliments so here goes.

iphone case

My iPhone case from H&M was £5.99, but seeing as it began with a five I thought I’d bend the rules a little! That’s what they’re there for, after all. I’ve recently upgraded my phone and while I was deciding which case to buy saw this beauty.

Hair clips from Sweet Thing at Ohh Deer. These are so sweet and even though I can’t persuade Flo to wear them for more than five minutes at a time, I love them and hope she’ll come round eventually! I bought them online but can’t seem to find them on the site now, so hope they’re not sold out.

Nail polish duo, £1.99 H&M. These colours are fab, and they don’t break the bank at all. I’ve tried the nude shade and it looks really natural and glossy.

Glass, Ikea. 50p I love these little glasses and have a few different designs. I only go to Ikea once or twice a year, but when I do I am dangerous! This year I bought some really nice baubles and a copper star light from there, as well as the kids’ chair I went for!

Washi tape, Ohh Deer. Christmas is here, and finally there’s an actual use for all that washi tape you’ve bought – to wrap presents with! This one is really nice and I think the gold scallop print would look great on plain brown paper.

In case you’re admiring the fairy lights, well I’m afraid they weren’t under a fiver but aren’t they pretty? They are from Utility and cost £13.99.

So what do you think of my five things this month? Are you ready to join in? I’d love to see your faves. If you need inspiration, why not check out my #fiveunder5 posts for September, October and November?

x Julia

UPDATED 21st December… Thank you so much for joining in with the first Five Under £5 linky. It has been so hard to choose a winner, I wish I could send you something each but in the end I decided to go for the person who actually made me go out and buy something on their list.

That was a little initial purse from Matalan, so I have to say my winner for December is the lovely Vicki from Let’s Talk Beauty! x x x x

I’m so glad you’ve asked people to join in with this, I’ve loved putting my post together, I had so much to choose from!! The nail polish from H&M looks great, they’d make a fantastic stocking filler and I love the iPhone case too. The hairclips are so cute too, I’d I’d be tempted to wear them myself if you can’t convince Flo 🙂 xx

What a fun way to do a five for list! And I totally agree, rules are there to be stretched (maybe not broken) from time to time 😉

I love this idea, and your choices are really fab, particularly those hair slides! I just love how cute they are. I do agree ikea is addictive, luckily last time we went we were on our way back from holiday and were extremely limited on space 🙂 It’s a good trick!
Hope you continue this each month X
