Five under 5

Five under £5 for September

Five under £5

Five under £5

This is a concept I’ve borrowed from beauty blogs, as I love reading those ‘five under £5’ posts to get ideas and inspiration for new, affordable finds. Well this is my latest collection of tiny treats, there are things for me and things for the kids in there, I’ve tried to make it a balance of all three of us. So here goes…

Initial coin purse, Primark, £2. I have several ‘going out’ bags but I never think ahead to buy a purse small enough to fit inside. Usually my money is put in a little pink purse which a friend once commented at the bar looked like it belonged to his daughter! This will be good to keep my cash in, and it just about fits in a bank card too.

Fools gold, from the Blue Planet Aquarium, £1.50. I have a piece of Rose Quartz which I bought when I was trying for our second child – apparently it can help but who knows if that’s true! I just loved the sparkle of this rock and how it catches the light.

Grapefruit and Ginger Room Spray, Marks and Spencer, £5. This is so fresh I love anything citrusy and it always cheers up the room. Safer than lighting a scented candle when the kids are around too!

Tea towel, Mary Berry at Sainsburys, Two for £5.25. Ok, I cheated a little on this one and I know it’s just a tea towel and not the most exciting of purchases.. but… it beats the ones I currently have which have seen better days!

Finger Lights, Primark, £1.99. I bought these for Sam and he absolutely loves them. I have to say they are really fun and you just strap them to your fingers and have five different coloured lights shooting out of them! Well worth two quid. They come in a pack of five, but only three are shown as the other two have disappeared into the depths of his bedroom.

So there you go – my five under a fiver for September – hope you like them!

x Julia

I love this idea! We like finger torches in our house too – although I trod on one in the boys’ room the other day and completely crushed it. Which was not so nice. That is such a pretty tea towel… one more wouldn’t do any harm, surely?

I love the idea of a coins purse to keep all my change in. It’s so much better to have one than shoving it all into my little care purse. And we have those little lights. They remind me of something for mini ravers 🙂
