It can be hard trying to persuade my two-year-old Florence to wear some of the lovely clothes I’ve bought her – this girl has some early fashion sense and a mind of her own. Luckily, this bright and cosy Frugi Isla cord dress was a hit straight away and she’s been admiring her ‘polar bear dress’ hanging up in her bedroom for a few weeks now. It’s the perfect style and weight for this time of year – nice and easy to wear, really soft fabric and a strong, cute design, which all make for a big thumbs up from me as well as my daughter.
I was lucky enough to be asked to review this dress by a blogger friend of mine, the lovely Nichola at Global Mouse Travels. Nichola is part of the Frugi Family, a group of bloggers who regularly try out their clothes on their lovely little subjects, and she chose me to test something out too as part of the brand’s Christmas project, #GiftofGiving.
I picked this dress for the festive range for Florence as I know how much she likes dresses, and I thought it would work well for Christmas parties over the next month or so. The polar bear makes it Christmassy but not too tied to the season so I know it will last her all winter. I love a bit of cord at this time of year, it’s nice and soft and warm and hardwearing. I like that this has long sleeves too, as so many dresses don’t and you need to layer up. It’s such a quality piece, made from organic cotton like all the Frugi range.
I’m also thinking of ordering another of the cord dresses, there are loads of designs including a really cute one with a fox on – plus many have 15% off at the moment. If you’re thinking of ordering though I would think about sizing down as Florence is usually a 2-3 but this is a size 1-2 and fits perfectly.
As there are nine bloggers taking part in the #GiftofGiving project, I’m sending you over to Emma 4 FACS to see which piece she chose. I’m really looking forward to seeing everyone else’s picks too.
Thanks again to Frugi and Nichola for choosing me (and Flo) to be part of the project.
x Julia
