Party time with Feather Grey

It was my birthday on Saturday and although things are not quite as joyful as I’d like this year with my husband being so poorly, I wanted to try to keep things as normal as possible for the children and do something to try and cheer myself up at the same time. I went out for a bit of pampering at Harvey Nichols Beauty Bazaar in Liverpool on Friday with my sister, and had a night out booked in for Saturday (alcohol does help with the stress, I find!) but wanted to do something with my parents and Sam and Florence.

I’d been sent a gorgeous Bumble Bee set from Feather Grey Parties and couldn’t wait to try it out. Sam had been eyeing up the box all week and Flo had sneaked a few balloons out already and deposited them round the house! The set included some invitations, thank you cards, cupcake toppers, table confetti and some balloons. The balloons were in bold yellow and pink but my favourites were the clear confetti-filled ones.

I had them filled with helium on Saturday morning, and the children had lots of fun playing with them before we sat down for lunch. One of the best games for Sam, who is nearly six, was letting one float to the lounge ceiling and jumping off a chair to try and catch its ribbon mid-air! I can’t endorse this or vouch for its safety, but it did look like a lot of fun. Flo, on the other hand, liked to run around the house and garden with hers and watch the confetti move around. They have such a cool effect, and are a really unusual product, and along with the table confetti, make the party table look a little bit more special.

We had a lovely lunch and I blew out my candles before heading off to see my husband in hospital. We’re having a tough time at the moment but I was overwhelmed by all the love and support I felt this birthday from my family and friends. I only had to open the card from Rog and tears were rolling down my face, he definitely has a way with words! While I was with him in hospital, there was a knock on the door and the nurse brought in a special chocolate birthday cake baked by my fab blogger friend Lisa from Into the Glade. What a kind lady, and her cakes are absolutely amazing.

X Julia

Honey these are fabulous and really are cute for a tea party. I agree with you – the confetti balloons are my favourite too. A perfect tea party for a little bit of a pick me up. Loads of love and hugs, Steph xxx
