Five under £5 for May 2017

The first of my five things under a fiver this month has caused a bit of a stir in my house. My glittery cat phone cover (£4.99 from H&M) has been a hit with Sam and Flo, who think it’s super cute but at the same time are a bit baffled as to why I have changed the cover at all! Yes I know I’m 40 and not 4 but I like a sparkly kitty as much as the next man (woman, or child). When you spend as much time er, ‘working’ (read Instagramming) on your phone as I do it’s nice to change things up a bit every few months isn’t it?

The unicorn coin purse was also a bargain from H&M, which is always a great spot for accessories and gifts. I bought this for Flo as she doesn’t really have her own purse and this will come in handy for holiday money when we go to Greece in a few weeks’ time.

My three-year-old daughter is also the proud owner of these mini trolls, which are £2.99 each and come in little surprise packets a bit like Lego Minifigures. I think we bought one from Tesco and the other from John Lewis – Guy Diamond the silver one is my personal fave.

You may or may not know my drink of choice is a gin and slim, and this little bottle from Fentimans is just perfect for when you need a classier gin in a tin! I’m cheating a little bit here as it was actually a gift from my fellow blogger Sarah at Arthur Wears, who lives really near me, so thanks Sarah and cheers to a woman who knows what I like!

The tulips were a gift also from me to me this morning, as after all my birthday and Mother’s Day flowers have died the house was feeling pretty bare. Tulips and daffodils are among my favourite flowers and I really like the spring bright colours of these multicoloured ones. They were £4 from Tesco where we went at about 7am this morning for emergency milk. Emergency milk, croissants and tulips! That’s single mum blogger life for you.
