These two new pictures seem to have made their way into my home. Sentimental I know, but the words are so touching and meaningful to me that I just had to buy them.
I’ve posted a few times lately about new artwork which has been given to me – the papercut from Caro at The Twinkle Diaries and family portrait from Karen at Mini Travellers. Our home is already quite full of art prints and photographs and I
know I probably don’t have room for any more, but just couldn’t resist these two.
The first is a gorgeous quote from Emily Bronte’s Wuthering Heights, when she talks about Heathcliff. “He’s more myself than I am. Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same.” This framed print is from California stationery company Minted. It’s just the right size and will look lovely in my bedroom.
The second is a line from E. E. Cummings’ I Carry You In My Heart, which was read at our wedding. I found this hand drawn print on Etsy from Riley Writes Scout.
Have you got any favourite quotes around your home?
X Julia

April 26, 2015 at 2:14 pmThese are really beautiful quotes, they both actual evoke real emotion when I read them, and the prints are so pretty too. I’m so glad you happened to be above me in the #sundaysstars linky, not only because I’m glad to catch up on your beautiful blog but also just because I wanted to stop by and say I’m thinking of you. I hope everything at the hospice is going as well as could be expected. Xx

April 26, 2015 at 8:15 pmThat E. E. Cummings quotation is lovely. It made me tearful to read it. I love the design and the calligraphy used too. The simplicity of the Emily Bronte quote is fabulous too. Your house should be a reflection of you. So I think it is really important that you fill it with prints, photographs and artwork that carries a lot of sentimental value and holds memories. These prints definitely tick all those boxes. Hugs Mrs H xxxx #SundaysStars

April 26, 2015 at 9:37 pmThose are absolutely beautiful Julia and think it is fabulous to surround yourself with beautiful artwork. Our favourite family quote is Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. #sundaystars

I haven’t read Wuthering Heights for years but now I suddenly feel the urge to read it agin. Such a good book! Both quotes are so powerfully emotional and will be perfect in your beautiful home xx

April 27, 2015 at 11:26 amI LOVE the EE.Cummings poem. I bought a silver locket for my sister’s 30th birthday that has ‘I carry your heart’ engraved on the front and on the back, ‘I carry it in my heart’. It’s such a beautiful sentiment — and these are gorgeous prints. Makes me think I need to start doing more of these and adding to my little shop! 🙂 If you think of any lovely phrases or poems, Ju,let me know! X

May 24, 2015 at 1:47 amLovely quotes. I really enjoy quotes; I suppose I’m a words person. One that comes to mind right now is Maya Angelou’s quote about us not always remembering what people said but rather how they make us feel. That has featured quite a lot in my classroom pep talks to my students this term.
This is a very late #SundayStars comment; so sorry it took me so long to get here.
