Finding tasty, convenient food for little ones isn’t always easy, especially if you’re hard-pressed to make something from scratch, so when I was asked if I wanted to try out these new organic kids meals and drinks from Quinola I jumped at the chance.
I love quinoa, although admittedly don’t really know how to cook with it and usually end up eating it plain, with a salad or roast veg. I haven’t been too adventurous with it really but I do know that my daughter loves it too, as last time I had some she was stealing most of it from my plate and I ended up giving her some in her own bowl.
These quinoa-based meals come in three flavours – Thai, Tex Mex and Meditteranean. They taste so good I’ve been sneaking a few to work to eat for my lunch, and I can’t say that about any other baby or kids’ meals we’ve tried. They come in handy microwaveable sachets which heat up in 30 seconds, you just tear the top off and put the whole thing in the microwave to heat up. Florence is a real fan, her favourite is the Meditteranean and mine is the Tex Mex! I definitely give them the thumbs up, as they are tasty, convenient and super healthy as the range is organic, vegan and gluten free.
We were also sent some dairy-free coconut milk drinks to try from Rebel Kitchen, and I have to say my nearly six-year-old son was far keener on trying these out than the quinoa – so much so that they all vanished from the fridge within a couple of days.
In Choco Mylk, Banana Mylk and Orange Choc Mylk flavours, the drinks are in the coolest cartons with cartoon designs on the front and slogans which appeal to kids such as ‘Drink me, I’m epic!’. They look like milkshakes but are a great alternative for little ones who need to avoid dairy, and even those who don’t. My son Sam was desperate to try each flavour and loved them all, but when pushed to pick a favourite he went for the chocolate orange one. I gave one to a friend, and she reported back the Banana flavour was great as a mixer too!
We were sent a selection hamper of six meals and six drinks to test, and the lovely folk at Quinola are offering the same goodies to one of my lucky blog readers to win. You can enter using the Rafflecopter form below. The winner will be chosen at random and will be notified on the closing date. Good luck!

March 10, 2015 at 3:31 pmThese look fab — love the fact they’re gluten free too. The drinks wouldn’t last 5 minutes in our house — I am a coconut milk monster — I can’t get enough of the stuff — the boys wouldn’t get a look in!! 🙂 X
