Five under £5 April

With April being the month of Easter, it was a bit of a struggle this month to find five things to feature that weren’t all chocolate! What have I bought for under £5 this month, hmm, chocolate bunnies, chocolate eggs, kinder eggs, mini eggs, the list goes on!

I hope you all had a lovely Easter and didn’t overdo it too much. I love chocolate and am now sitting looking at a row of eggs belonging to Sam and Flo and wondering how long I can resist from stealing one! I really love dark chocolate, the darker the better, but if I go for milk Lindt is pretty high up there in the favourites for me. These tiny bunnies are usually on offer and perfect for a little treat.

The forget-me-nots were a present from Flo, picked from my parents’ garden. I love the tiny blue flowers and these are a bit of a family heirloom. My grandpa was a keen gardener and everyone had some forget-me-nots from his flower beds. My mum brought some over to the Wirral when we lived there, but my garden here needs a bit of work so hasn’t got any in yet. They look lovely in this little jug though, and last ages.

These hair clips and ties are from the really lovely Ditsy Dot, who I got to know thanks to a Christmas fair over in the Wirral a few years ago. They make these beautiful fabric-covered buttons that look great in Flo’s hair and they really stay in too. Her hair is really fine and I’m always struggling to keep it under control, as most clips just slide out!

Many of these are covered in Liberty print fabric and aren’t they just gorgeous? They are sold in pairs and are all under £5 – I was lucky enough to be sent these for Florence but you can find out more about how to order on the Ditsy Dot Facebook page.

We’ve just spent a few days away in Filey and always stock up on some pocket money joke shop stuff while we’re there. These fun snaps are like little firecrackers and Sam thinks they’re great! I think they were the bargain price of 60p a pack.

The final thing in my five under £5 round up is this nail file from Tesco, which was £2 for two. I like to keep my nails really short (I’m hopeless with coloured polish, unless it’s gel) and am always buying new files. I never seem to find one when I need one though!

I hope you like my five under £5 this month, if you’d like to link up, add your post in the usual way below! Apologies to my regular linkers, I’m a bit late with posting this month as I’ve been in birthday party and Easter holiday mode! More on that in a later installment 🙂

x Julia

Love the Ditsy Dots and the forget me nots. Is it wrong that I want the Ditsy Dots for myself!
