Two of my major vices – drinking tea and buying mugs.
As vices go, they’re pretty tame I know, but it’s still getting slightly out of control – so much so that I’ve started to squirrel some of the old, lesser-favoured cups away just so I can squeeze a few more new ones into our cupboard. My husband’s in despair. But hey, it’s harmless, not bad for my health or really my bank balance, so I’m going with it.
I’m a pretty happy lady today, as I’ve been sent two beautiful new mugs for my collection from Keith Brymer Jones. He’s a Londoner who, apart from once fronting up a punk band, has lived and breathed pottery since he was a teenager.
He’s worked for Conran, Habitat, Laura Ashley and Heals, and now has his own range of gorgeous ceramics with simple, clean lines and a hand finished touch to each piece.
The signature bucket mugs are a great shape to hold in your hand – nice and big but delicate enough to look chic and stylish – and each has a word on the front in a typewriter-style font. Perfect for a writer like me who loves to drink copious amounts of tea! I’ve been browsing through the rest of the range, and also love the jugs and bowls in the word range – two of them say ‘porridge’ and ‘pudding’, another of my vices!
I’ve got a set of two ‘Love’ bucket mugs, worth £20, to give away and you can enter below. If you’d like to leave me a comment, why not tell me what your favourite hot drink is.
Good luck!
X Julia

December 15, 2014 at 8:39 amDepends on the time of day for me.
Whether it’s wrapping my hands round a brew first thing or snuggling down with a hot chocolate and book before bed, I get very attached to my vessels! Xx

December 15, 2014 at 8:42 amI am happy with ANYTHING, as long as it’s in a good mug!! I love them. Though I’m particularly partial to tea (every hour without fail – I must have a word with myself!) and hot chocolate. Also, even a yukky lemsip seems to taste better in a mug too and makes you feel all warm and cosy. Xxx

December 15, 2014 at 8:44 amI am a massive tea drinker. I really can’t stomach coffee but at this time of year a huge mug of hot chocolate with whipped cream and mini marshmallows is my idea of bliss. These mugs would be perfect for the hot chocolate. Hugs Mrs H xxxx

December 15, 2014 at 5:53 pm1 to take to work for lavender and oat flower tea…. Something’s go to make me smile through the long days! The other to hold my Friday champagne I have with my fish and chips. Need a big mug for champagne, or a vintage tea cup. Fits more in than those daft flute things that fall over and need topping up every minute. The vintage tea cup just looks cute!
