Tatton Park at Christmas – win a family ticket

Tatton Park in the snow

Tatton Park in Cheshire is continuing its year of celebrations of the children’s author Roald Dahl with a special Christmas event at its Knutsford mansion.

You might remember we visited the grounds in the summer to check out some of the events to celebrate the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory creator’s centenary year.

Well from this week the main house has been transformed into a festive world – the Gloriumptious Christmas Mansion – where each room celebrates a different one of your favourite Dahl characters.

The Withes take over the drawing room, Fantastic Mr Fox and his woodland friends are in the dining room and the BFG is in the music room.

Throughout the house is woven lines from Dahl’s 1988 poem ‘Ode to Mother Christmas’, written for Great Ormond Street Hospital.

The Christmas Mansion is open from 11-4 on the following dates:

Monday 21 November – Sunday 4 December

Friday 9 December – Sunday 11 December

Friday 16 – Sunday 18 December

Tickets are £9.50 for adults and £5.50 for children, plus £6 parking fee, but the lovely people at Tatton have given me a family ticket to give away to one of my readers. The ticket will admit two adults and up to three children to the mansion, farm and gardens.

Just fill out the Rafflecopter form below.

There are loads of other Christmas events going on at Tatton this year too, like the Lantern Parade on 25 November, Father Christmas at the Farm and carols in the stableyard.

Good luck!
