I’ve always loved jewellery, particularly statement pieces that you can wear with a simple outfit to really make it feel special. When I first noticed the brand Black and Sigi, it was a bangle adorning the wrist of super fashion blogger Kat Got the Cream and I fell in love with it right there and then.
The bangle Kat was wearing was the Juno bangle, one of BAS’s classic wire wrapped designs and I am now feeling so lucky to own my very own Juno necklace.
You may know (as I have been mentioning it just a little bit!) that I am going to London tomorrow for the MAD Blog Awards. It’s a party at Kensington’s five star Royal Garden Hotel and will be attended by some of the country’s top parent bloggers. Many of these writers I have been following online for months if not years and finally I get to meet them – I really can’t wait.
It’s been so long since I had anything to celebrate I can’t tell you. This year has been a rollercoaster of emotions and to say it has been and is a struggle is a bit of an understatement. I think it’s about time I had a good night out and I know if my husband were here today he would say the same. Rog always knew what I liked to wear and even used to joke that I had a ‘brand Jules’ style that he could spot a mile off! I know if he could see this gorgeous jewellery from Black and Sigi he would say it was Brand Jules straight away.
Designed and made by Italian sisters Clio and Athena Sigismondi at their studio in Leigh-on-Sea, the collection is modern, fresh and bold and everyone I have shown it to so far has gasped and said how stunning it is. I contacted them at first after I fell for the Secret Garden necklace, but after a chat about what I would be wearing Clio suggested I try the Juno necklace instead. She was right, and as I’m going for a simple black dress on the night I think it was the right choice.
I’ll also be wearing the gold Etna bangle and Vesuvius ring from the A/W Rupture collection, which uses natural agate and jade stones and wire wrapping. I just love how the sisters describe how the ring was inspired by Mount Etna – ‘In a constant state of activity, Etna watches over its people with a dominent eye, reminding everyone that nature, although beautiful in its entirety, is still the boss on this earth.’
I love swooning over the BAS Instagram account, and love how the bangles look when they are stacked together.
I’m keeping my BAS pieces in their box until tomorrow, as Florence has already tried to steal them! These gems are strictly for mummy only.
x Julia
I bought the necklace from Black and Sigi and was kindly gifted the ring and bangle. All opinions are completely my own.

September 17, 2015 at 11:55 pmOh, swoon. That jewellery is gorgeous but I especially love the necklace. It is fabulous. And will look perfect with a simple black dress. And my hubby comes from Leigh-on-Sea so it is nice to know that you are supporting an Essex talent. You deserve a night off and to have fun. I hope you have a lovely night and bring home the gongs. I will be thinking of you all and cheering you on loudly from my sofa. Hugs Mrs H xxxx
